Houston took a 2-1 lead in the AL, and Washington basiscally ended the NLCS in the first inning of game 4 by scoring 7 runs. St. Louis didn't give up right away, and did get 4 runs back, but couldn't salvage even one game of the series. Washington makes the World Series for the first time in franchise history (including their time in Montreal). The city hasn't had a World Series appearance since the 1930s, with the Washington Senators.
