2018 College World Series Contest

It's College World Series time again, which means the annual contest at Autographed Cards is on. You've got until 11am Central Time tomorrow (Friday) to enter phase 1, which can give you a few extra points to help give you a head start for the main part of the contest. Right now, you'll just need to pick the 8 teams that will advance from each 8-team Super-Regional.

This is the 9th annual contest, and my 8th time participating. I said I was due for a win when I promoted the contest in 2016, but I actually managed to lock up a win in 2017 before the final game. I can't seem to find a post where I showed off my prizes, though, so I need to dig those out and get that done.

SLU is in the field for the first time since 2013, but as a #4 seed in their regional. I'm not sure they can pull off winning the title, but I do need them to at least beat Missouri State to avoid being razzed by a few of my friends who are alumni from there.

2016 College World Series Contest

I'm a little late promoting this year, but you've got until 11am Central Time tomorrow (Friday) to enter phase 1, which can give you a few extra points to help give you a head start for the main part of the contest. Right now, you'll just need to pick the 8 teams that will advance from each 8-team Super-Regional.

This is the 7th annual contest, and my 6th time participating. I'm pretty sure I'm due for a big win. SLU is not in the field yet again, nor is Mizzou, so I'll be rooting for Southeast Missouri State to win their Super-Regional as I watch the contest unfold.

2015 College World Series Contest

It's May 28, which means it's time to get into the College World Series contest at Autographed Cards. Seriously, all my promotion posts have been May 28, in 2012, 2013, and 2014. I suspect the calendar will conspire against me to force me to do it earlier next year.

But enough numerology. Go pick the teams that advance from each pool of 8 before the games start tomorrow. Then you can wait until the final 8 team bracket is set before making your further picks. I've got no Billikens again this year, so I suppose I'll be rooting for Missouri State for starters.

2014 College World Series Contest

It's that time of year again, when Autographed Cards starts the annual College World Series contest. In fact, it's exactly that time of year, as my promotion posts from 2012 and 2013 both went up on May 28 as well.

Sadly, there are no Billikens this year, as they lost in the semifinal of the Atlantic 10 Tournament, despite it taking place on their home turf. But that means I won't be tempted to make any sentimental picks this year.

Go pick the 8 College World Series participants from the field of 64 for now, and don't forget to come back once the final 8 are set for the next phase. You've only got until high noon Eastern Time on Friday, so don't wait, enter now!

College World Series, 2013

My Saint Louis University Billikens have won the Atlantic 10 Baseball tournament. In fact, they also won the Soccer and Basketball tournaments this year. But the baseball win means they'll make the field of 64 for the chance to go to the College World Series in Omaha (technically only the final 8 are in the CWS). Why do I bring this up on a very MLB-centric blog? Because once again, over at Autographed Cards, the annual College World Series Contest is happening. This is a little easier than the basketball tournament, because for now, you only have to pick the 8 super-regional winners, and phase 2 of your picks will come once that field is set. So follow that link and give it a shot.

A Zack Greinke contest and College World Series

I recently started following Baseball Cards, Sports, and Life, I think by following a link from someone's trade post. Well I found it just in time, because now there's a contest going on for a Zack Greinke relic card.

I haven't jumped on the 2012 Archives bandwagon myself, but I know lots of others have. Of course, I wouldn't mind a free card to start me off. Go leave a comment on the contest post and follow his blog to enter, and good luck to you!

The second contest going on is the Third Annual College World Series Contest at Autographed Cards. For the first step, just pick the final 8 from the 64 currently in the tournament. And of course, promote it like I am for a bonus point. I didn't do too well last year, but I'll give it another shot this year.
