eBay Wins #232

Today I've got some 1989 Classic Travel Purple penny cards. These were part of a big box of Oakland A's that I bought, which had a fair amount of duplicates in it, such as 3 of these Todd Burns cards.

The only other card I have from this set is a single Mark McGwire card that came from Junior Junkie awhile back. I looked up Todd Burns and saw he played for the Cardinals in 1993, though I had no memory of him despite watching the team pretty closely starting in mid-1992. Then I saw that I already wrote that in another post, and I didn't even remember that. Maybe my memory's just bad.

I was glad to see a few of the slightly harder-to-find cards, like the 89 and 90 Classic cards. Not that those are impossible, but there are certainly more 1990 Donruss or 1989 Topps around.

I wonder how many cards featuring both McGwire and Canseco are out there. I got two different examples in this bunch, counting the one with Terry Steinbach. Don Mattingly and Matt Nokes also made appearances. I think my favorite cards of this post is the Topps Big, although now I've got even more of a need to figure out how exactly to store cards from that set. I'd be glad to hear any good ideas anyone has.
