2016 World Series Projections Wrapup

Chicago was favored pretty heavily for the entire run of the playoffs, as you can see from the giant swath of blue in this graph. They had a bit of dip when they were down 3-1 and 3-2 in the World Series, but other than that, they were the best bet the whole time. It's amazing to me that if we will have another 100-year-drought baseball team, it would take another 32 years of Cleveland not winning (if you don't count expansion teams that have never won but began later than 1948).

Worst position for Chicago: 22.49% on October 30, down 3-1 in the World Series.

Best position for Cleveland: 77.51% on October 30, up 3-1 in the World Series.

Best position for an LCS loser: 24.56% for Los Angeles on October 19, up 2-1 in the NLCS.

Best position for an LDS loser: 18.31% for Boston, before the playoffs began.

Best position for a Wildcard loser: 2.38% for Baltimore, before the playoffs began.
