Clemson, Alabama, and Michigan State won to stay in my top 4. During most of the season the committee announces their results on Tuesdays, but in the final week they go right for it on Sunday morning. I matched their top 3 picks, so I shouldn't complain too much about their picks. We have the same 3 teams at #4-#6, but #4 is the only one that matters in that range. I'd have put Iowa in at #4, but they went with my #6, Oklahoma. The fact that Iowa just lost is almost certainly what knocked them out of consideration. If not Iowa, I'd have put Stanford ahead of Oklahoma too.
Missouri didn't play this week, but they did announce they didn't want to be one of the 5-7 teams in a bowl. They also hired their Defensive Coordinator as the new Head Coach. I don't know much about him, but the experts in town seem a little leery. We'll see if he can at least retain most of Gary Pinkel's recruits for next year.
What if LSU had won their canceled week 1 game against McNeese State?
McNeese State lost their playoff game, so I don't think this question will get any more interesting in subsequent weeks. That win would bump LSU from #28 to #17, still well out of playoff contention.
