The road teams won both ALDS games last night, with different effects on my projections.
Houston was already favored, so their 1-0 lead gives them a 71% chance at making the ALCS. Texas also has a 1-0 lead, but being the weakest team of the 10 coming into the playoffs and playing the strongest, I still have them as just under 50% likely to win the series. But, they knocked Toronto down enough to make Houston the new AL favorite, and thus make St. Louis the new World Series favorite.
Tonight the NLDS starts, and I'll of course be rooting for St. Louis. As for New York vs Los Angeles, I feel like New York would be the easier team to beat, so I'll root for them, but no matter who wins I don't think the road through the playoffs is going to be easy for anyone.

ReplyDeleteI think that is a very good statement. This could be a year where everything gets thrown out the door one day, then you run outside to scoop it all up the next. And the cycles repeats itself.
